ROLE OVERVIEW

The Director of Technology will be a savvy technologist who can lead both infrastructure and e-commerce initiatives. S/he will lead and oversee Bonchon’s Information Technology department and external resources focusing on increasing efficiency, streamlining processes and e-commerce solutions. This individual is a problem-solver responsible for understanding business needs to formulate innovative solutions and align IT’s goals with the company’s vision for Bonchon’s tech stack. The role requires a collaborator responsible for working with executive leadership and outside vendors to define a strategic and proactive approach to business needs including but not limited to: multi-unit technology and systems management, e-commerce solutions, POS management and improvement, communication networks (e.g., voice and data), and infrastructure development.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Lead an organization that allows for functionality and responsiveness to a rapidly growing company comprised of internal and external teams that provide and support technology solutions including store solutions, help desk support, and infrastructure solutions
· Manage and develop the growing IT team and external resources
· Interact with company managers and business partners on internal and external operations that are impacted by the capture, storage, processing, and dissemination of information
· Ensure the security of data, information, systems, and equipment are in compliance with PCI requirements
· Oversee the development, design, and implementation of new solutions and ensure a roadmap for changes to existing platforms and equipment
· Direct and manage information technology strategic plans, policies, programs, and schedules for business including financial data processing, computer services, network communications, telephone systems and management information services to accomplish corporate goals and objectives
· Advise senior management on strategic systems conversions and integrations in support of business goals and objectives
· Assess, communicate, and advise on risks associated with IT investments
· Develop and review budgets for the IT department and ensure they comply with stated goals, guidelines, and objectives
· Work to remain current with advancing technology trends, benchmark industry best practices and provide recommendations to improve the IT infrastructure and systems
· Work with corporate HR on staffing, on-boarding and off-boarding IT needs; including recruitment, procurement, IT policies, etc.
· Serve as primary contact with outside vendors in the generation of RFPs, bids, contracts, agreements, and other major vendor interactions

SKILLS & REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or business systems management
· 8-12 years of related experience in the multi-unit restaurant or retail industry
· Knowledge with point of sales, online ordering solutions, data warehouse, food and labor management systems, and other restaurant or retail applications
· Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with proven experience creating and managing communications with store operations, franchisees, vendors, executives, and cross-functional partners
· Proven experience in IT infrastructure strategic planning and development, project management, and policy development
· In depth knowledge of, or the ability to quickly learn: NCR Aloha POS, Mirus, Freedom Pay, MS Dynamics, MS SQL Server/SSIS, Mac OS, and Windows Servers
· Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within restrictive timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
· Skilled at effectively communicating technical processes and product benefits in laymen’s terms to fellow team members and franchise partners.
